Dave Chappelle’s ‘El Clon Cast’ is ‘a show about the people who make movies, not the people behind the movie’
The show, which is co-produced by Chappell and the actor’s wife, is about the process of making a film, and it’s been described as “a show that tells the stories of the people that make movies”.
“El Clen Cast” is based on the memoir of comedian Dave Chappella, who died in December 2016.
Chappeles memoir was published in 2009 and tells the story of his life as a child growing up in a Chicago suburb.
He also co-wrote the book that became “The Real Me”.
Chappela’s memoir is one of the most critically acclaimed books in Hollywood history, and won the National Book Award in 2017.
Chapelle’s writing has been described by Hollywood critic and former “Inside Amy Schumer” writer Sarah Silverman as “one of the greatest comedians of all time”.
“I am a huge fan of Dave Chaps work,” Silverman said.
“He is a wonderful writer.
His writing is the most authentic of the comedians, and is an important and relevant example of how a comedian can make an impact without having to look too much like a professional actor.”
Chappells memoir has been adapted into a play and a documentary film, which Chappels wife, actress Celine Dion, is also directing.
